The Walk takes place this Sat 7th October at 6am to coincide with World Mental Health Month.
In aid of “The Tree of Hope” (Facebook: @treesofhope), The Walk be a 5km walk through the beautiful Valley of Glenasmole to the Tree of hope planted 2 years ago at the reservoir.
Starting and ending at St Anne’s GAA club in Bohernabreena where there will be complimentary refreshments following the walk for all participants.
Last year over 400 people took part and ThE Tree of Hope team are hoping to greatly increase that number this year.
The walk is being organised by the Shane Smith Fitness and Tree of Hope.
Safety Stewards and guides will be present throughout the walk so it is an ideal event for families and all are welcome.
The “Tree of Hope” is a 100% voluntary organisation who plant Tree’s Of Hope to provide a place of comfort where survivors can memorialise their loved ones lost to suicide and to show support to people living with mental illness.
On the day they hope to raise funds to ensure the Tree of Hope Organisation can continue their work.
100% of the money collected will go directly to The Tree of Hope.
It is the only event in the year the group look for donations.
