A vicious armed thug punched a woman in the face with a weapon before raiding her South Dublin home for money and jewellery, Dublin Live can reveal.
The incident took place in Firhouse on Thursday evening when the lone thief entered the house armed.
He was confronted by the homeowner when he entered but proceeded to hit her in the face before stealing several personal items.
The ruthless man was disturbed in the middle of the burglary by neighbours who heard the woman’s frightening screams.
But, the horrible thug ran upstairs and jumped out a window fleeing the scene with a laptop, cash and jewellery among other items.
In a statement to Dublin Live, a garda spokesman said: “We responded to an aggravated burglary that occurred on Wednesday 22 January at approximately 6pm at a property in Firhouse, Co.Dublin.
“A significant amount of property was taken during the incident. Homeowner received bruising from the male intruder during the break-in.
They added: “Homeowner later alerted neighbours and suspect then fled the scene. No arrests have been made and investigations are ongoing.”
