The UFC have announced that they will return to Dublin this year with an event at the 3Arena on October 24th. Joe Carr, Vice President of International for UFC, said: “Ireland has been such an important market to the UFC and we couldn’t let a year go by without delivering another spectacular event for the fans in the capital. “We’re looking forward to showcasing both local and international talent at the event and hopefully getting the decibel counter higher this year round.” It will be the third time the UFC have come to Dublin and the second event held at the 3Arena in the space of fifteen months. The first event was at the 02 back in 2009 while last July saw Conor McGregor defeat Diego Brandao at the 3Arena in front of a packed Dublin crowd. In what was a historic night for Irish MMA. McGregor was triumphant alongside fellow Dubs Cathal Pendred, Neil Seery and Tallaght’s Paddy Holohan, as well as Antrim’s Norman Parkes and Ireland’s adopted Icelandic hero Gunnar Nelsen.Tickets are set to go on sale to the general public on Friday September 4th.
