UFC 200 a Stacked card with more to come




While the main headline from the latest UFC 200 news is undoubtedly the rematch between Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor and the man who dominated him at UFC 196 Nate Diaz, their is plenty of other news to digest.

The rematch takes place at Welterweight the same weight that bout men fought at previously, which was against the advice of McGregors Coach John Kavanagh, Dana White and CEO Lorenzo Fertitta who urged him to fight Diaz at Lightweight.

There was plenty of other news to digest about UFC 200 which will be the first event to be hosted in Las Vegas new venue the T-Mobile Arena. Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar will do battle for the Interim Featherweight title and the right to face Conor McGregor, should he win, lose or draw following the event.


Frankie Edgar has been chasing a shot at the title and this could be great news for the American who could avenge a loss to Aldo and then get a shot at McGregor for the undisputed belt. For Aldo he gets to battle a top contender in Edgar, and then if he wins gets a shot at McGregor, the only man in WEC and UFC history to defeat the Brazilian.

Diego Sanchez v Joe Lauzon is a fight which fans will enjoy with the Lightweight battle expected to be a fight of the year candidate. Both men are fan favorites and it is sure to be a war. Sage Northcutt will return to the Octagon to face off against Spain’s Enrique “Wasabi” Marin. The 20 year old is coming off his first loss and ‘Super Sage’ will be hoping to put together another winning streak to build up his hype once more.


The other announced bouts are: Heavyweight Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne, Welterweight Johny Hendricks vs. Kelvin Gastelum, Middleweight Gegard Mousasi vs. Derek Brunson and Lightweight Takanori Gomi vs. Jim Miller.
