Traveling to Canada? Bring your drivers licence it’s now valid in even more provinces

More good news for the Irish in Canada or those of you wishing to travel there over the next few months.

From yesterday more of Canada’s provinces recongnise Irish driving licenses as valid. Why is this important you ask? Well it means that anyone who arrives in the country wont have to retake their driving test which was part of the practise there for many travellers for years.

Provinces already signed up to the agreement between Ireland and Canada included Ontario (where major destinations like Toronto are) and other provinces, but it has now been extended to the regions of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Remember though Canada is a massive country and places that do not have such an agreement include; Alberta, Nova Scotia, Quebec and Prince Edward Island.
