One of the worst things about long distance travel has to be the feeling of drowsiness that lingers after you land as you try to adjust to a new time zone.

But that could soon be a thing of the past if travelling on the Airbus A350 XWB – thanks to some special LED mood lighting.

The innovative plane is fitted with energy efficient LEDs which will be used to tailor the cabin’s ambience.

They’ll also change colour to mimic the illumination of a natural sunrise and sunset, which the human body uses as an indicator of when to wake up or when to go to sleep.

This is intended to help passengers adjust and adapt to the changes in a new time zone, and hopefully reduce their symptoms of jet lag.

The plane is focused on passenger comfort, with an extra-wide cabin and a complete change of air circulated every two to three minutes.

Now there’s really no excuse not to book that trip to the other side of the world.
