Jack Black and Kate Hudson are set to walk the red carpet for Kung Fu Panda 3 today – although fans of the animated film franchise may not recognise the film stars in human form.
The two will attend the European premiere of the movie in London’s Leicester Square early in the afternoon.
Jack returns as the voice of giant panda Po as he continues his “legendary adventures of awesomeness”, while Kate has joined to play fellow panda Mei Mei.
In a teaser trailer, she is shown performing a ribbon dance and encouraging Po to join in the fun.
Kung Fu Panda 3 sees the return of Po’s long-lost panda father, voiced by Bryan Cranston. The reunited duo travel to a secret panda paradise, where they make more panda friends.
But when a supernatural villain Kai (JK Simmons) begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must step up and train his fun-loving, clumsy friends in the art of kung fu.
Also on the red carpet will be directors Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni and screenwriter Glenn Berger.
The American-Chinese action comedy martial arts film is already the biggest grossing animated feature ever to be released in China.
It opened in the USA and China at the end of January, and has already grossed over 314 million US dollars (£221 million) worldwide.
Kung Fu Panda 3 will be released in cinemas on March 11.
