Run Red is hosting a two-part conference on 7 October where theoretician and art critic Francesca Alfano Miglietti will present a lecture on the title The Image of Violence / The Violence of the Image.
The second part will take the form of a round table discussion, chaired by artist and curator Franko B, between artists represented in the a/politicalcollection, including Democracia, Kendell Geers, IRWIN, kennardphillipps and Andrei Molodkin.
The panel will look at reoccurring themes from the exhibition HOW TO SAY IT THE WAY IT IS! and how socio-political artists navigate the contemporary art world.
Francesca Alfano Miglietti is a theoretician and art critic, and Professor of Contemporary Art at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera. The central motives of her research are the contamination between life and art and identity as a transformation element.
Miglietti has organized and curated numerous exhibitions, recently including “Through Women’s Eyes” at the Casa dei Tre Oci, Venie and “Antonio Marras” at the Milan Triennale. She was a Member of the Jury of the Venice Biennale Visual Arts, 2017.
The conference will be held the day after the opening of HOW TO SAY IT THE WAY IT IS! the first exhibition of selected works from the a/political collection, curated by Franko B.
