Tallaght Community Council joined the large crowd who gathered in The Penny Black pub last Friday to wish Matt Rudden a happy retirement from the public realm team in SDCC.
Matt, a Cavan native and avid GAA supporter, studied horticulture and was one of the parks team who laid out Sean Walsh park in the ’90s.
Many colleagues, councillors and community groups describe Matt as a gentleman, who was always accessible, listened and was a driving force of getting things done.
TCC wanted to acknowledge his immense contribution to the parks & public realm in Tallaght.
“Matt has always been responsive and practical when we raised any issues or had suggestions.
“He was a rock of sense and always delivered on the ground.
“We will miss him and wish him all the best in the next phase of his life.”
