Star Wars: Battlefront DLC and Expansion Packs Update



EA and Dice have released details of the free DLC and Season Pass expansion packs that will be added to Star Wars Battlefront starting tomorrow and through to next year.

Of the free content that will be made available tomorrow, January 27th, the pack will include maps for both multiplayer and mission modes. There will also be a new addition to the game called Private Matches along with new hero outfits to name but a few.

From tomorrow Dice will be adding the following to the game: Blast, Droid Run, Drop Zone, Hero Hunt, and Heroes Vs Villains multiplayer modes to the Tatooine Survival Map which is titled Raider Camp.

Luke Skywalker and Han Solo will be given new Hoth-themed outfits when you play as these two franchise figures on Hoth. This content will already be available to anyone who completed the community mission Heroes’ Holiday last month.

Daily Challenges and Community Events will be introduced to the game.  More information about this will be released in the coming weeks but at the moment they say that they ‘are designed to rally the community around certain goals and objectives, giving players the chance to earn credits and unlocks even faster’.

From tomorrow they will also be doing some overall tweaks to the game on both the weapons and also the multiplayer modes. Players will also be able to create private matches making the possibility of playing Star Wars Battlefront with your friends online that much easier.

Along with all of that free content, information on what is to come was also released. In February a new survival mission will be added to Hoth along with a brand-new Hoth multiplayer map. This will help support the larger game modes including Walker Assault, Supremacy, Fighter Squadron and Turning Point. There will also be new additions to Turning Point making this mode available across all maps that support Walker Assault and Supremacy in the update.

A new multiplayer map will be added to Endor in March that will support Walker Assault, Supremacy and Turning Point, a new Tatooine Survival Map will also be added in March.


Those of you who bought a Season Pass must be wondering why considering the free content that is being released in the coming months however EA and Dice have not forgotten about you.

In March 2016 Outer Rim will be made available to season pass holders, in the expansion pack you will ‘fight among the factories of Sullust and battle within Jabba the Hutt’s Palace on Tatooine’.

In the Summer of 2016 the hunt or be hunted action-packed experience called Bespin will be added which takes place on the cloud city of Bespin. For anyone wondering when the Death Star will be added to the game worry no more as it is coming in the Fall of 2016.

Finally, the fourth expansion pack will be released in Early 2017 however no name for the pack has been given yet. More details on this expansion pack will be announced in the coming months. All of the expansion packs will also be sold separately as many a Star Wars fan will want to experience the Death Star.
