South Dublin County Council (SDCC) launched the all-new Tech Week in Tallaght library today, Tuesday November 17th.
The launch featured a new Tech Space in the library that inspires young people to create, produce and have fun with digital technology and enables them to become creators, inventors and makers for the 21st century.
Sacred Heart School Killinarden were at the launch to share their exciting new activities including paper circuits, scribble machines and Makey Makey. Mayor of South Dublin Councillor Sarah Holland was also there to open the event, and enjoyed learning about the activities the kids had been doing.
All were welcome to the launch event and it was great to see how engaged the children were in the technology. As part of Tech Fest there was also a ‘Monday club’ held on November 16th for kids aged 8+, which the SDCC hope to expand on in the coming months as there was so much interest in it!
