The South Dublin County Council (SDCC) has launched a Gum Litter Taskforce campaign and Anti Dog Foul initiative. Mayor Sarah Holland launched the campaign in Corkagh Park, Clondalkin, on Wednesday August 12th. The initiative tackles the issue of littered gum and aims to raise awareness of the impact of littered gum and encourage proper gum disposal. Anyone that disposes of gum in an irresponsible way can be fined €150. SDCC also dressed a tree in plastic bags filled with dog waste in an attempt to highlight the problem of dog owners leaving bags in trees and hedgerows in parks and streets.
