RUA RED South Dublin Arts Centre EUCIDA project successful in Creative Europe funding bid

RUA RED South Dublin Arts Centre have announced their recent funding success through the Creative Europe Co-operation projects funding strand for the EUCIDA project.

This competitively sought after award will lead to the development of supports for artists, curators and academics working in the fields of digital and new media art in Ireland and across Europe through the provision of mobility visits, residencies, touring exhibitions, audience development initiative and an online portal.

Karen Phillips, RUA RED’s Executive Director commented:

“RUA RED are extremely excited about the myriad of opportunities this funding will provide in Ireland and further afield. EUCIDA will have huge benefits for Irish and European Digital Artists and practitioners, and will also have excellent benefits for our local audiences within Tallaght and South County Dublin who will benefit from the resulting programme of exhibitions and activities. We look forward to growing our European networks and supporting the work of Digital Artists, both in Ireland and further afield and are extremely grateful to Creative Europe for their support of this project.”

The EUCIDA project will run from July 2016 – December 2019 and will also look to make digital arts more accessible to a non-arts audience, bringing to the fore a wider public debate on arts and technology by a programme of ambitious and unique experiences.

The dedicated online platform here will launch later in 2016 and will be a hub for contacts, activities, opportunities, research and sharings for the European Digital Arts Community.

Participant calls for funded Mobility Visits and Residencies will be released through the platform each year and will be open to artists and practitioners from across Europe. A programme of activities to take place in the partner countries of France, Latvia and Ireland will also be announced in the coming months.
