We have some great news this lunchtime for football fans as the in doubt Robbie Keane looks set to be available for selection for Euro 2016. Keane’s LA Galaxy manager Bruce Arena expects the Dublin striker to be back to full fitness in a month.
Keane was an injury doubt for Ireland’s Euros campaign after he went under the knife for minor knee surgery last week. The news will be welcomed by Irish manager Martin O’Neill who will hope to receive similar news in relation to Jon Walters, Shane Long, Daryl Murphy and Kevin Doyle who are also on the injured list at present.
He took to his Instagram last week to let his followers know the operation had been a success. He captioned the image of his bandaged foot
“Operation done speedy recovery hopefully back soon stronger #lagalaxy #Ireland”
With the Euro’s a matter of weeks away Keane who missed Ireland’s friendlies against Switzerland and Slovakia will hope to be fighting fit and looking for a place in O’Neill’s side this summer.
