A talented Tallaght man has released a children’s fantasy book with a twist.
Denis Thompson, who is also an accomplished musician, not only wrote the book but both wrote and recorded an album of original music to go with it.
Published by Emu Ink, Centurium, The Land of Creedon, tells the story of Nathan, a young boy who is plagued by recurring dreams of another world.
Sometimes these dreams are confusing, sometimes exciting and sometimes even scary.
What they all have in common, however, is that he doesn’t have any idea what they are really about!
Every night he is visited by frogs as big as dogs, giant slugs and creatures with horns that stretch back like handlebars.
The adventure begins, when Nathan meets a strange creature that proves to him that this world is not just a dream. And as he sets out to uncover it, he discovers that his destiny is actually to save it.
Denis (pictured above) a Jobstown native, who now lives in Wexford, said;
“I feel both grateful and privileged to be given the opportunity to release Centurium, The Land of Creedon and its soundtrack.
“My goal was to capture the essence of another world through writing and music and I hope that in achieving that, readers and music lovers can lose themselves in the book and get taken away in song, just like I do.”
Publisher Emer Cleary said:
“Every once in a while you come across a book that sucks you in, to such an extent, that you forget about your own world for a little while.
“In Centurium, The Land of Creedon, we have just that.
“The imagination behind each character and the adventure in the story, is second to none.
“We are delighted to launch this wonderful piece of work.”
Centurium, The Land of Creedon is available to buy in all formats from the children’s section of emuink.ie where there is also a link to the album on iTunes.
