An online scam which targets Lidl’s Irish customers has resurfaced six months after the supermarket giant issued a warning about it.
The link (pictured below) shows a survey in which it says customers can win €750 worth of vouchers for the store.
It also includes fake comments to make it look genuine
The scam is to get your phone number as part of the agreement and have you signed up to a premium phone line.
Once they’ve done that you’ll start receiving text messages which can cost between €2.50 and €5.00.
If you have already signed up for it text STOP and ask for any money charged to be refunded.
You can check the number on the COMREG service checker website by clicking this link
Back in October Lidl Ireland warned customers of the same scam.
On their Facebook post, Lidl said:
“Hi guys – yet another fake scam to report, this is not endorsed by Lidl or promoted by us.
“Please do NOT share any personal info with this page!
“The page asks customers to enter their age while some comments from people labelled previous winners encourages people to enter.”
