Lego Star Wars the Force Awakens (Preview)



Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a soon to be released video game from developers Traveller’s Tales and TT Fusion and is published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

The game is the sixth instalment in the Lego Star Wars franchise, with the first game of the series released back in March 2009 for the Xbox and PlayStation 2. Although the game is mainly based on the events and characters from the most recent Star Wars film The Force Awakens, the video game will also have content which covers the period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. This will be a great feature for Star Wars fans as it will provide additional insight about the new movie and its characters.

One of the main features of this game is that the characters in the game will be voiced by the actors who portrayed them in the film with Daisy Ridley voicing Rey, John Boyega as Finn, Harrison Ford as Han Solo and Irelands Domhnall Gleeson as General Hux.


The playable characters in the game is huge with them broken into three different categories: The Light Side, The Dark Side and the mysterious. Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, Luke Skywalker, BB-8 and Chewbacca are some of the light Side characters. The Dark Side and Mysterious characters’ feature Darth Maul, Bobba Fett, Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Royal Guards, Jawas, Watto and Imperial Officers.

The Lego franchise of games and movies are really popular and the Star Wars version is the most popular with fans. The games are brilliant because they allow fans of different franchises to relive some of the best moments from films but done in Lego’s unique way which is both clever and witty.

Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens looks like a brilliant game that all of the family can enjoy because of the films they are taking inspiration from. It will be released on June 28th and will be released on all games consoles. The next-gen version in Smyth’s is €64.99 with current gen retailing at €49.99 and the Wii U version priced at €49.99, there is also a gift for those who pre-order.
