Ok so he picked England over Ireland and we have all moved on, well sort of.
Hailed in the media as the next best thing Jack Grealish has failed to impress Aston Villa manager Remi Garde and has struggled to get a regular start for the side who are fighting relegation this season.
Garde criticised Grealish after a sub-par performance in the side’s FA Cup third round replay against Wycombe Wanderers yesterday. It was just the youngsters second start for Aston Villa since the end of November and times haven’t been great.
After 73 minutes he was subbed with the tie still goalless. Late goals from Ciaran Clark and Idrissa Gana seen Villa progress on the night but Garde did not hold back with his views on Grealish’s performance;
“It was Jack’s first game for quite a long time — and I haven’t seen what I wanted to see from him, he played in the part of the game when we weren’t playing well collectively”
Grealish would have hoped to be part of England’s squad for their Euro 2016 campaign but from what we are seeing the chances of that happening now are slim to none.
The question a few months ago was simple “who will Grealish represent at Euro 2016” and now the answer seems simpler than ever, nobody.
