On the 12th of November, IT Tallaght held it’s open day in which I attended. As a school student, it gave me the opportunity to see the college, ask questions and find out more information about the different college courses that interested me from lecturers and current students.
The college provides a large variety of courses from Culinary Arts to Hotel Management. On the day there were multiple information talks about a number of courses such as Business and Creative-Digital Media. As a student wanting to study Media this was a great opportunity for me to see the rooms I would be working in, ask questions and what kind of work is required for the course.
The college layout is quite easy to understand and get around although there is more than just the one floor unlike my current school. They have fantastic facilities such as a canteen, a library and most importantly a Starbucks! There are also a large range of clubs and societies for students to interact with other students of different or similar interests.
If anyone is interested in attending a course in IT Tallaght they hold an event in Rua Red across from The Square every year to present the students work over the last few years. It gives you a look at what the students have created at the end of their college years.
