Irish Band “HomeTown” record Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme tune for the movie release in Ireland

Paramount Pictures Ireland are delighted to announce that local boy band HomeTown, have recorded the iconic theme tune TURTLE POWER for the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows which is in Irish cinemas nationwide now.

The HomeTown sextet of Brendan Murray (18) , Cian Morrin (20), Dayl Cronin (21), Dean Gibbons (21), Josh Grey (17) and Ryan McLoughlin (21) have been making waves in Ireland.

Their debut single Where I Belong became the fastest-selling single from a debut artist and the quickest -selling single from an Irish artist in 2014.

Since then the band have achieved 2 Number One singles,  a Top 10 album which featured an array of writing credits from Kodaline, Liam Payne and Jamie Scott to name a few.  Over the past two years, the group have toured extensively across the UK, Ireland and abroad, supporting Shane Filan, The Vamps and selling out headline shows of their own to thousands of adoring fans.

Speaking of their involvement with Paramount’s TMNT Theme tune HomeTown said:

We were so excited when asked to record the TMNT theme tune! It was something we never would have dreamed of being able to do. We’re all such big fans and this is something that we cherish for a lifetime!”

Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to theaters this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.

Speaking about the unique project, Niamh McCaul the General Manager of Paramount Pictures in Ireland said:

“In addition to Sheamus playing Rocksteady. We are delighted to have this opportunity to add some local talent to our release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows  in Ireland.  We hope audiences sing along with the boys as the end credits roll out across the country.”
