Young Dublin actor Barry Keoghan, star of upcoming releases Mammal and Traders has been nominated for a BAFTA Next Generation of Talent Spotlight. The award aims to highlight actors who are ‘the ones to watch’.
Barry, who also starred in season four of Love/Hate as Wayne has just signed with William Morris Endeavour Entertainment (who represent Brie Larson and Ridley Scott).
Other nominees for the BAFTA Next Generation of Talent Spotlight were Manish Daval (The Hundred-Foot Journey), Ellie Bamber (Nocturnal Animals) and Joe Alwyn (Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk).
Barry is also set to star in Trespass Against Us with Michael Fassbender and Brendan Gleeson and has been nominated for the Audi Dublin International Film Festival Discovery Award. As well as that he was named one of Screen International’s ‘Stars of Tomorrow’ last year.
Barry stars in Mammal alongside Academy Award nominated Rachel Griffiths where he plays a homeless youth who develops an unorthodox relationship with a woman (Griffiths) who has lost her son. He also plays a troubled and violent youth in Traders with fellow Love/Hate star Killian Scott, in cinemas on March 11th.
