We have been hearing for awhile now that Ireland was set to introduce a new credit card style passport and today was the day for it.

Passports are not the easiest of documents to be carrying around with you on your travels but something that you can bring to the airport in your purse or wallet is the perfect solution for all.

Unfortunately it is only acceptable for EU travel at the moment but we expect the new style passport will be a huge hit throughout the country.

You can apply online from today, and it will cost you just €35.00 which isn’t too bad. The only catch to the introduction of the card is you must already hold a valid passport to apply.
