It’s more good news for the Irish as they have moved another 11 places up the FIFA world rankings following their wins over Germany and Bosnia.
The latest rankings will be welcomed by boss Martin O’Neill as they were ranked in a very low 67th spot last time round.
Scotland have moved to 52nd in the world, their lowest ranking in three years, after they failed to qualify for Euro 2016.
England surprisingly remain within the top 10 of the rankings list. Roy Hodgson’s side sit in 9th spot while Belgium, Argentina and Spain make up the top three, with world champions Germany slipping to fourth.
