Instagram gets an update, but people don’t love it

Instagram has ditched its neutral colours and got a very vibrant makeover. The logos for Instagram and its sister apps Layout, Boomerang and Hyperlapse have all been updates and now feature a vibrant mix of pink, purple, yellow and orange.

The photo sharing giant explained the new look in a blog post.

It said: “The Instagram community has evolved over the past five years from a place to share filtered photos to so much more — a global community of interests sharing more than 80 million photos and videos every day. Our updated look reflects how vibrant and diverse your storytelling has become.

“We’ve made improvements to how the Instagram app looks on the inside as well. The simpler design puts more focus on your photos and videos without changing how you navigate the app.”

However, sadly Instagram fans weren’t so keen on the new look.

Some have drawn similarities between other popular apps, including WeHeartit, another photo sharing community and Depop, a sales app similar to eBay.

However, a few people are feelin’ it.

Let’s be honest though, whether we love it or loathe it, we’re still going to waste umpteen hours on it every night regardless.
