The VHI Women’s Mini Marathon takes place on Monday 5th June and Make-A-Wish Ireland is looking for women all over Ireland to join their ‘Wish Team’ and run, walk or crawl the 10k to help grant extraordinary wishes to children aged 3-17 years, battling life threatening medical conditions.
You will be helping to grant wishes for children like 6-year-old Brandon (pictured below) from Dublin who is living with Medulloblastoma and wanted to meet all his favourite Superheroes.
Brandon and his family travelled to Belfast and stayed at the Europa Hotel for two nights. On arrival in Belfast they checked into their hotel and then went to visit the W5 interactive exhibition with over 250 amazing fun exhibits and live science demonstrations.
Susan O’Dwyer, Chief Executive Officer, Make-A-Wish values the support which comes from the VHI Women’s Mini Marathon. She said:
“We are hoping that women across Ireland will take part and fundraise for Make-A-Wish. In doing so, you will be helping us to make memories for brave children across Ireland this year.”
Since its inception in 1992 Make-A-Wish Ireland has granted wishes for almost 2,000 children, realising their greatest wish and allowing them experience the hope, strength and joy each wish provides.
If you would like to join the ‘Wish Team,’ email [email protected] or call 01 205 2012.
