It’s good news for those of you who use Google every day of the week as the internet search page look set to ban Flash-based ads at the start of next year, continuing its move to phase it out of its products entirely.
The company will stop accepting flash ads from June this year and will ban them entirely come 2 January 2017. Flash video ads escape this ban, however, with Google saying they “will not be impacted at this time” but the message is to change formats sooner rather than later.
Wouldn’t it just be great if adverts online became a thing of the past? That may be just a little bit too much of an ask right now but with Google taking this massive step we expect others to follow too.
