Gardaí from the National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau supported by the Special Crime Task Force seized a large quantity of drugs and two firearms in a planned raid on Monday evening.
During the search Gardaí discovered cannabis and heroin with an estimated street value of €4 million (subject to analysis) along with drug paraphernalia, vacuum packing machine and cash counting machine.
The raid, at Ballyfermot Parade in Dublin 10, also turned up stun guns and two firearms – a sawn off shotgun and a semi automatic pistol. These finds led to follow-on searches across other areas of the city.
As part of the ongoing operation Gardaí also arrested three men aged 46, 44 and 39 in the South Inner City.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed that the three remained in custody at Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Garda Stations under Section 2 of Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 on Tuesday morning.
