At a meeting of the Central Hearings Committee tonight the GAA have issued a one match ban to Diarmuid Connolly following his Red Card in last Sunday’s drawn All Ireland Semi Final.
The news means that for now Dublin Manager Jim Gavin must plan without Connolly for the replay which will be held this Saturday.
Now that the ban has been handed down, Connolly may choose to appeal the decision to the Central Appeals Committee and if that fails to the Disputes Resolution Committee.
Here is how twitter reacted to the news:
Kevin Keane – clear dig to the face: ban dropped. Diarmuid Connolly – dig to the ribs: ban upheld. Consistency in a GAA world gone mad.

Connolly suspension upheld. Be wary, #MayoGAA. Hell hath no fury like a wounded Dublin. This will still take everything you’ve got. ❤️

Connolly can still appeal decision, but as it stands he’s out of the replay.
