Debenhams last week week announced that their Irish stores had entered into examinership.
There are now fears for up to 2,000 jobs at the retail giant. The chain has 11 shops in Ireland with four in Dublin in Blackrock, Tallaght, Blanchardstown and on Henry St. The main financial problem for Debenhams is their rent bill, which is reportedly 25 million euro a year.
Debenhams moved to reassure customers and staff that it’s business as usual for the moment, as they aim to restructure their Irish operation.
