Heartbreak is a stunning piece of film created by local actor and writer Emmet Kirwan which also features his fellow Tallaght native Jordanne Jones.
Emmet, who grew up in Raheen, performed the piece, which focuses on a young girl trying to deal with life, at the Tallaght Talks mental health conference in December.
It was originally commissioned by the Irish theatre company ThisisPopBaby and director Dave Tynan said he was so impressed by Emmet Kirwan when he performed it at the Fringe Festival last year he decided to turn it into a spoken word film.
“Everyone in that tent felt the power of it,” the director said, “it’s been a privilege to turn it into a film and bring it to a wider audience.”
Dave and Emmet previously worked together on the massively popular video ‘Just Saying’ which was written by Dave and performed by Emmet.
Up and coming Tallaght actress Jordanne Jones plays the lead role with Deirdre Molloy also contributing.
Emmet’s play ‘Dublin Oldschool’, a comedy which tells the story of a Dublin DJ who meets his estranged brother one night, begins a tour next week which will be coming to The Civic Theatre next month.
