Engineers Week 2016 returns to Tallaght for the eighth year in a row. Organised by South Dublin County Council and partners Tallaght Stadium, IT Tallaght, PM Group, Vilicom and Xilinx, the week-long programme of events aims to celebrate the world of engineering in Ireland.
The week runs from February 28th until March 5th and offers great opportunities for primary and secondary schools students to learn about Engineering in a fun way with workshops, challenges, quizzes and lectures. With this year’s theme in mind ‘Engineering for the Future’ students of South Dublin County have been set a number of challenges to discover, design, build and code.
In the build up to Engineers Week, the students of St. Dominic’s National School Tallaght were set the challenge to design a rooftop restaurant using K’Nex. Working together, the students envisaged and created their own rooftop restaurant – each with their own design and style.

Engineers Week 2016 will be officially launched by Mayor Sarah Holland on Monday February 29th. Also in attendance will be Engineers Ireland President Bill Grimson.
