Eleven People Rescued from Fire in Tallaght Overnight

Dublin Fire Brigade rescued 11 people from a burning apartment complex in Tallaght during the early hours of this morning; six people were transported to hospital for treatment.

The fire broke out sometime before 3am in the complex on Cookstown Way with several people rescued from balconies according to Dublin Fire Brigade.

Seven units of the fire brigade, including crews from Tallaght, Rathfarnham, Tara Street and Dolphin’s Barn, attended the scene along with three ambulance crews.

Of the 11 people saved by fire fighters six had to be hospitalised for treatment for smoke inhalation.

Gardaí are still at the scene which this morning has been sealed off for further examination.
