Dundalk could play Champions League games at Tallaght Stadium

It has been reported today in the Irish Sun that Dundalk will look set to play their summer Champions League matches in Tallaght Stadium if their pitch is not given the go ahead by UEFA.

The Sun claim the Lilywhites will line out at the home of their rivals Shamrock Rovers if the pitch at Oriel Park does not pass a test this week. Stephen Kenny’s side were yesterday granted a UEFA licence to compete in the Champions League but the artificial surface at Oriel must meet UEFA’s two-star standard to host the club’s home leg in July, the set up already meets the one star standard for domestic games.

The draw for the second qualifying round of the Champions League takes place on Monday June 20th.
