Dodder Greenway from Dublin Mountains to the City must go ahead without delay

Fine Gael TD for Dublin Rathdown, Josepha Madigan has called for the Dodder Greenway, which would link the Dublin Mountains to the City, to proceed without delay.

“I was delighted as a councillor to give this project my full support and I would now like to see it go ahead as soon as possible. The plan is to create a 29 km Greenway, along most of the river Dodder, from Glenasmole in the Dublin Mountains to Ringsend and Dublin Bay. I have seen how the Western Greenway from Westport to Achill Island has given great pleasure to cyclists and walkers alike. The Dodder Greenway would do the same and would provide a welcome amenity and further boost tourism to the area.

The proposed Greenway would run through Dartry and onwards to Clonskeagh, Milltown and Donnybrook, providing a beautiful tranquil walk and cycleway. The ambitious project would see a 29km tour from the rural Dublin Mountains, through the suburbs to the city. Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Council, South Dublin County Council, Dublin City Council and the National Transport Authority are behind the project.

Unfortunately there is now some speculation that it could be delayed due to the Luas track financial commitments of the NTA. As TD for Dublin Rathdown I would like to see this project go ahead on schedule and I will be working to ensure this happens”.
