Fans of the Stone Roses will be delighted that the band are back with a series of live dates this summer – including one at Dublin’s Marlay Park but what about a new album?

Speculation is mounting that they’re also on the verge of releasing their third album to coincide with the gigs. Ian Brown and co. have not released an album since ‘Second Coming‘ in 1994, but The Mirror quoted a ‘source’ as saying:

“Ian Brown and the lads have been busy getting their next album ready. It will be album number three. It’s a long time coming but they feel the time is right now. They’ve been back in the studio. Everyone is very excited about it.”

None of the band have made any official comment, other than bassist Mani previously saying that they had been ‘working on a few bits’.

Who knows a return to the stage and a new album? This will be music to fans ears if you pardon the pun!
