Here we go again: after the huge list last time, security experts have discovered others applications downloadable from the Google Play Store to uninstall immediately.
In particular, according to what reported by Gizchina and what was discovered by the VPNPro team, a particular developer called QuVideo Inc has published several applications on the Google Play Store that contain a sort of spyware. The main application involved is VivaVideo, which has already been downloaded 100 million times. The latter requires many permissions to the user, who can potentially exploit to access the device remotely.
Put simply, security experts strongly advise you to uninstall these applications immediately and to stay away from similar software from the same source.
- VivaVideo PRO Video Editor HD;
- SlidePlus – Photo Slideshow Maker;
- Tempo – Music Video Editor with Effects;
- VivaCut – Pro Video Editor APP;
- VidStatus – Status Videos & Status Downloader.
By the way, it seems that some of these applications are also available through the Apple App Store. In short, pay attention to what you download and stay away from software that could jeopardize cybersecurity, perhaps by doing some research online.
In this case, in 2017 the VivaVideo app had already been reported as dangerous in India, as evidenced by an article published at the time in India Today. In short, a quick search often allows you to find applications that may potentially contain malware.
