An early goal for Rovers this evening will keep hopes alive

Last week Shamrock Rovers saw a goal thriller at Tallaght Stadium as they took on Mlada Boleslav.

The Hoops have plenty to do away this evening after their 3-2 home loss but a goal early on will keep dreams alive. Rovers do however need to score twice but judging by many of the travelling fans on social media this certainly isn’t a task too far for Stephen Bradleys side.

Rovers have never managed to overturn a first leg home defeat to go through a round in Europe, so as it stands their Europa League opponents Mlada Boleslav remain favourites to advance to the third round of the competition but having witnessed their performance last week Rovers certainly will not go down without a fight this evening.

Apart from the absent Danny Devine and Paul Corry, Rovers will be at full strength. The travelling support certainly haven’t let them down either as it’s expected there will be up to 250 supporters in Mlada Boleslav, 60km outside Prague.

The winners tonight will continue on to play opposition from either Albania or Azerbaijan.
