Local comedian Al Porter has been announced as the new lunchtime presenter on Today FM.
The station confirmed the news on air this morning and also streamed the announcement on their Facebook page.
Speaking following the announcement Al revealed his plans for his new show:
“I want it to be light and very feel good.
“I don’t want to go down the news line.
“I considered calling it the Al Porter Breakfast Show because I only get up at half 12 anyway.”
The lunchtime slot was without a presenter since Dermot and Dave’s move to mid-morning a few weeks ago following the controversial departure of Anton Savage at the end of last year.
Springfield native Al has previous radio experience from when he worked with Colm Hayes at 2FM.
He starts his new role, which will be on air weekdays from 12-2.30pm, on February 13th and everyone here at InTallaght is looking forward to hearing him and wishes him all the best with his new gig!
