After 18 Years Ann Hogg Bids an Emotional Farewell to The Square

Today the Square Towncentre said an emotional farewell to one of their much loved Customer Service members – Ann Hogg.

Ann who has worked on the desk for 18 years will be a well known face to many of you who visit the Centre. Originally from the inner city, Ann moved out to Drimnagh and grew up there. She’s married almost 40 years now and has lived in Tallaght the same amount of time too.

She was 50 when she first started on the Customer Service desk “I absolutely love it here, there is never a dull moment”. Ann told us all about the team of ladies she has worked alongside and how special they all are to her

“I have to say that the women on the Customer Service Desk are a unique bunch of people. We all get on so well and we all enjoy each others company, which is very unusual for a team of women to get on so well and to be so committed to each other”

She also spoke of her love for the customers she has met over the 18 years on the desk

“Wow i’ll tell you something, the public in the Square with all the different nationalities, they are just so diverse so interesting and when you get time to chat to them and you do sometimes you hear lovely stories. Some interesting, some sad and some funny and I love dealing with the public I always did”

All the years spent at The Square Ann was sure to include her appreciation of the management at the Centre

“I never thought I could love a job so much, and to work for The Square management they have been so kind and generous to me and I’m overwhelmed and I will certainly miss all that but I will enjoy my freedom and because I live close by I will be here quite often as a customer”

Ann will have some time on her hands now over the next few months as she looks at a new chapter in her life we asked her what she hopes to do with some of this new spare time

“I’m heading off to Australia to see my gorgeous little munchkin granddaughter and my daughter and her husband in two weeks time and when I come back in five weeks it will be caravan season so I’ll be up and down”

All of us at InTallaght would like to wish Ann the very best in the coming years as she looks ahead to the future.
